Chasing the High

I hate giving things titles.

By L HPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

When I hear that beat I'm buzzing,

Sparks inside fizzle and fly,

They burst, they shoot, I shake the tension,

Dancing in the glowing light.

In my mind I'm grasping at the

Dust before the shimmer settles,

Scoop it up before it gets stamped

down into the grubby floor.

There's a shadow in the corner,

Grows across the walls like mould,

It surrounds me, I'm dragged under,

nothing matters once again,

So grab another drink and make

the sparks last longer through the night.

I spin, I roll my eyes, I'm high

with dizziness, I'm wild, I'm mad.

If nothing matters, we can be

Anything or nothing at all,

So let the music make you fly

Or let yourself be here right now.

About the Creator

L H

Strange, confused, tired. I'm an English grad and a bumbling pile of trash. Evidently, I'm a raging optimist! I think a lot, but never about the things I should. I want to talk about life, and I want to make it better. Let's do it!
