a once lush landscape
inundated with arctic chill
awakening in the center
of a glittering blizzard
air currents erupt
the blinking eye
of a silver gale

temperature plummets
descending mercury
splashes
instantaneously
stopping time
in the radius of
a phantom
lightning’s strike
thunderous clapping
surrounds
applause, the speed and
aura of freezing sound

I take my first tentative
steps
toes slippingly caress
seemingly molten
platforms of
solid white
on eager moonstone
fountain heads
I delicately alight
⋆꙳•❅*°⋆❆.ೃ࿔*:･*❆ ₊⋆
once flowing streams
rapidly gushing
over rocks and
outcroppings
now a riveted staircase
solidly set
letting me ascend into
the wickedly
whipping hurricane of
crystals refracting
dancing polar light
⋆꙳•❅*°⋆❆.ೃ࿔*:･*❆ ₊⋆
the fullness of
daylight emerges
in the presence of
prismatic motion
outshining the
glimmering nighttime
reflection of
ancient white-hot stars on
the ebbing leaden
ocean of a
storm painted sky
⋆꙳•❅*°⋆❆.ೃ࿔*:･*❆ ₊⋆
A momentary break
in the swirling frigid squall
sunlight, a spotlight
my form on which to
prey
a single ray envelops
my glassy, glossy visage
serene as
I am transfigured
snowblown
into the wind
lifted
a mist of
scalpel sharp shards
sucked into the
vortex
delivered to my
Hyperborean kin
