broken mirrors in my mind

decisions I could never make

chased down by shadows in the night

colliding hopelessness and fate

whispers calling in the dark

profiting from my mistakes

so many caverns in a heart

an unseen enemy in chase

like a storm cloud bove' my head

trying hard to negate fear

billowed clouds brimming with dread

riding on sighs no one can hear

I can feel the weight of giving in

sneaking up on me in all directions

like a battle in my chest that I can't win

giving it away with piloerection

a promise and resolve go hand in hand

fate and consequence demands the same

my eyes scour the spaces, scanned

in bated breath the wind whispers my name
