Chapters
A prose poem about faith, uncertainty, and hope

I have stopped asking the road to introduce itself. It has become enough to walk it, even when it bends into places where my eyes cannot follow. There are mornings that arrive wrapped in questions instead of sunlight, and I wear uncertainty like a coat I never meant to own. I wonder if I have missed a turn, I lingered too long in the wrong season, if this chapter was meant to be read so slowly. The pages feel unfinished. The ink pauses where I wish it would race ahead. Yet, unfinished does not mean abandoned.
God has never asked me to know the chapters that seem confusing. A book is not judged by the page where the character loses their way. The beauty is found in the author who never loses sight of the story. Every delay has purpose. Every unanswered prayer is held in wider hands than mine. Every tear has a place in the path He is laying before me to walk.
One day I will turn the final page and discover that the detours were not detours at all. The waiting was not wasted. The unanswered questions became bridges to deeper faith. I will see that grace had been writing between every line, and mercy had been carrying me through every paragraph I thought I walked alone.
Until then, I will keep reading this life one page at a time, trusting that the author of eternity has never written an ending that was anything less than beautiful.
"Faith is not certainty; it is the courage to live with uncertainty."
