Chaos Is Silenced

My Mind is a Mess

By Mercedes ChavezPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

My mind, my own personal torture chamber

Being confined, caged by my own thoughts

Such a chaotic mess

So many thoughts, like hearing a million voices all at once

All indecisive, all pulling in different directions

Staying frozen in place, not knowing which way to turn

Screaming inside, begging for something to be said, something to be decided

Annoyance turns to frustration

Frustration turns to anger

Holding on with every ounce of strength

Not letting the flood gates burst

I fight back the tears, I smile, I say "I'm okay"

Overstimulated, my mind unable to handle anything else

Mentally shutting down,

I hear nothing, eyes focus on one thing

Finally, the chaos is silent

I no longer feel anything
