Change for the Trip

Waking up in the morning, getting ready at the speed of the crack of a whip

Whip cream falling as I speed eat my pancakes and down my shirt is a drip

Drip I had on I could no longer wear

Wear on my mind needing to change before the trip

Trip on my way up the stairs for a new shirt to pick

Pick on my nails, nervous about the car ride for spring break

Break a glass with my hands shaking, trying to find a smile to wear

Wear on my mind needing to change before the trip

Trip the wires of my mind to get excited for the hotel, beach, and pool

Pool into the car, a group ready to leave for coastal paradise in a snap

Snap my fingers to the music on the radio matching the shirt I now wear

Wear on my mind needing to change before the trip

Trip time will become different than the usual, so cool!

Cool off time comes when we splash in the water at the beach and pool

Pool outside onto the sand when we arrive at the location of the trip.
