Celestial

A poem

The moon light glows

over my pale imperfections,

Illuminating my scars.

I trace fingertips over my skin

as I dance under the celestial light,

reminiscing on journeys of my past.

I try to appreciate the linger of pain

along with her sister, pleasure.

Who I once was shifts under lunar shadows,

watching who I am now spin in lustrousness.

I am a child of Artemis,

I feel her arrows pierce my heart

as Apollo dreams.

I come to life under the moon

& climb into myself in the sun’s rays

humming aubades til the world slumbers.
