How have I led myself here?...

In searching for satisfaction, I have found death

in the form of sin, and at the cost of my breath‐

In looking for pleasure, I've found myself dancing within a fire

looking forward to it's end, and too close to find comfort in any form of desire‐

I hate our dances, now seeking any chance for an end

to no longer sway within such that sears my skin‐

~

In seeking fulfillment,

I've come to know disappointment painfully well‐

For free of charge, boredom has chosen to be my ailment

I'd rather anything than this displeasure in which I tend to dwell‐

I'd rather keep myself far from desire's sight, voice, and hearing

that I might be right in my choice to wistfully want nothing‐

~

In wishing for comfort, I have fallen for death

in the form of love and hate of my own breath‐

In reaching for relief, my hands have grasped sin

anything to be apart from this dissatisfaction‐

The desire to simply escape has become a wish of danger

one of many that leave my mouth in anger‐

~

In searching for satisfaction, I have found death

in the form of sin, and at the cost an arm and a leg and my breath‐

The cause and effect of my wanting has left me, standing still in a fire

now only looking forward to it's end, far too close to find comfort in any form of desire‐

I hate our dances, now seeking any chance for any kind of end

that I may no longer sway within such that tears me from my limbs‐

About the Creator

JM

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
