It isn't their wet noses

Or the way my cat meows

It isn't even the way she walks on my keyboard

Or even the way my dog rolls around in the dirt when the sun shines

Neither of them is filled with an ounce of hate

Just pure, unadulterated love

But none of these are the reasons I love them

I love my dog because when I drank Febreze

Trying to poison me

She wouldn't stop barking until I got help

I love my cat

Because when I overdosed

The look in her eyes

Made me go to the hospital

But most of all

I love my pets

Because no matter how bad the world gets,

They love me all the same
