There is something remote about you,
like a castaway far off on an copper colored island
deep shades of greens throw shadows and hang around
banana palms, tamarind, and pawpaw
beneath the forest canopy, i s where I would expect to find you
languidly laying against an ancient trunk
idling without idle hands
figuring out the mysteries of the universe
the science of nature
its’ unknown formulas In that beautiful head of yours
an inner galaxy at play unseen
all while the body sitting very, very still
becomes a part of the undergrowth
like moss on the south side of a stone
