In the vessel of our life
We carry man things
The love we have and the love we lost
The why and what fore as we count the cost
Those dreams we hold and the dreams we live
Broken fragments of life that we strain through a sieve
Like a boat tossed about by the waves of the sea
The trials and hardships of this life we must come to see
Angst and pain in some lives leave permanent stains
We carry what we have learned tried and true searching for the truth of what we should do
Fear is the invisible enemy that tears at the seams of the place you keep your hopes and your dreams
Rangel your will as life comes to steal the destiny you are striving to fulfill
Time is fleeting you must not tarry that which you have for the next generation is your burden to carry
Shifting perspectives and challenges to the truth
Brings to mind those values we learned in youth
Just as sand through an hourglass marks time
We carry knowledge within to enlighten minds
There is a purpose that we may not yet see
We can carry a light to a future that is yet to be
