sometimes I’m looking over feeling sad

you’re walking paths where roses lie

some roads are paved in ways I never had

I dream of dreams while going mad

sigh, the earth is sinking, your step high

sometimes I’m looking over feeling sad

no bodies lining up, to applaud, for a nomad

I ask why, in your step they fall in sleep to die

some roads are paved in ways I never had

petals fresh, as they’re going bad

you can’t deny, a cry, flowers live for an eye

sometimes I’m looking over feeling sad

“hold my hand, oh, dear, comrade”

“come close, nearby, with an outcry let us fly”

some roads are paved in ways I never had

standing still, counting paths till I can’t add

butterfly, see the math of winter in mid July

sometimes I’m looking over feeling sad

some roads are paved in ways I never had
