Carpe Noctem

When rest calls to you

And slowly, the lights went from a hail of rays to the calm, almost lachrymose darkness that safely envelops your room

Cacophonies and their raucous clones surrounded every corner

Now, the faint hum of sedans cruising accompanies the welcomed silence

Tired attire disperses, the sheets call you to their surface

and to say “a bed of clouds” would be an understatement

No, it’s more like heaven-sent sand that conforms to contours

and as the night continues, as the sun dances in a titan’s shadow, there’s no flavor entering or leaving your lips

simply the fresh, empty wind of peppermint and wintergreen, making its way to and fro and just as easily, the scent soothes you:

Sandalwood and vanilla, flirting with each other's fragrances like love-struck Flamenco rhythms, this all is the perfect way to ease you into R.E.M.

Goodbye to the myopic cycles and to capre deim

Hello to carpe noctem.
