Caramel

Colors of self

By Ale Published 5 years ago 1 min read

Red runs through my veins and caramel under my skin

Freckles speckle chocolate throughout, remnants of too many days lazing in the sun

Soft pink painted across my lips form into a smile too many times in a day

Stories are inked into my body, the black hues permanently etching a moment in time

Sea green waves flow through my eyes seeing only beauty in my world

The hard times in life are scarred in white patches across my body

Caramel seeps into them over time, leaving behind the accidental and the intentional hurts.
