Capitulation

Waiting

By Cindy CalderPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Silently, my heart wept tears in the dismal aftermath as

I waited long days amidst cherry blossom strewn paths,

Lingering there ‘til twilight, my heart aching in despair,

Each breath I took evoking an unanswered prayer to

Nurture and perpetuate a forsaken, futile plea for repair.

Cherry blossoms are now withered with only scattered remains,

Ensuring capitulation to unrequited love’s most grievous pain.
