When I get cancer, which I undoubtably will.
I'm not going to let a single tear spill.
It's no use trying to fight the inevitable.
Why be brave just to fall?
I'll say "I've been expecting you, what took you so long?".
I've enjoyed a life filled with poetry and song.
I could have more but it is only materialistic.
Time to let go of empty gestures and get realistic.
When I feel cancer, which I am sure I would.
I will know that life is moving as it should.
It needs a trigger but it has always been there.
Gaining in strength as I'm losing my hair.
I'll say "Do your worst, I've got nothing to lose".
You're not a companion that I can choose.
I know the chemo would just make me tired and burn.
All I have to do is wait my turn.
When I surrender to cancer, which I must I guess.
It is just waste matter that will go to rest.
My soul will live on in a newborn's eyes.
A new life has started as another one dies.
