Words spoken in anger and haste,

Can leave wounds that forever chafe,

The sting of harsh words can persist,

And make us feel like we've been dismissed.

We lash out with venom and spite,

Without thinking about what's right,

We hurt those we love, and ourselves,

Leaving scars that never quite delves.

We say things that we can't take back,

And cause pain that leaves a lasting track,

The damage done may seem small at first,

But it festers and grows, like a curse.

So think before you speak in rage,

For words can be swords on a rampage,

They cut deep and wound the soul,

And take time to heal, often taking a toll.

Choose kindness and love over hate,

And let your words lift, not deflate,

Speak with compassion and empathy,

And help heal, instead of causing injury.
