And you heard the Sea calling.
Her gentle, waving voice
Cutting through the monotone of daily life.
Quiet at first,
That you mistook the call
For a dream you barely remember when waking.
But you heard the call.
.
You turned away, and brushed off
The silky siren voice,
And continued along your repeated ways.
So, naturally, the Sea rose her voice.
.
And you heard her calling.
Her voice crashing waves along the rocky shores,
Made ripples that were calm, confused,
And she sent the Sea bearing birds to retrieve you.
.
Yet, you still turned away.
Moved further from the Sea, inland,
And caged yourself.
So that no waves could upset
The fragile land you built upon.
No echos from beneath
Could tremble the belief
You don't need the Sea.
.
But the Sea is calling.
Her piercing scream vibrating through the night,
Digging into any peaceful dream you rely on.
Every slumber, every nap.
Every closed eyes that fall on their own.
.
All clamping down, warning
.
You to follow the Sea
