I

Dropped my spoon

So I barbarically picked up the last part of the cream cake with my fingers

Biting into it, it felt like a concentrated slice of the sun exploding in my mouth

You become apart of the whole thing like it’s a new universe

Then it sinks lower in my stomach

Sun-drying my head like a balloon that crumbles in summer air like the earth became an air fryer

There’s nothing worse than how melancholy it feels when it’s all over

There’s nothing at all you can do to bring back that delicate feeling, that delicate crumb

It isn’t as though it was hopeful in its sincerity, layered with cream, crumb and berry

It was that it made you feel good, and you’re not used to that

So the sad melts like butter into cool deep dystopian tale

Cheating death only to relive the excruciating excitement of its finality

I feel as Sisyphus must feel

The moment the boulder hits the top of the mountain only for it to tumble down, down, down

Like that cake that was a fresh slice of air and dreamy hope

Down, down, down

Down.
