Caged

breaking the cage to ur poisoned relationship.

By Kristina BrulePublished 5 months ago • 1 min read

I laugh, and I smile

I'm free to be me

No longer in the cage filled with thorns

I do what is asked, and I get cut

I try to break free and I get cut

Stuck in the never-ending

“ damned if I do, damned if I don’t.”

I close my eyes as they wet my cheeks.

The weight off my shoulders

I can stand tall.

The worry and stress of loving you gone.

The duress disappears.

The endless fights over the same damned thing,

The pettines from both sides.

The “I win” mindset poisoning our souls.

No longer I hide and no longer I fight.

I am here, and I am me.

Finally, I am free.
