Bypassed on Literary Byway

Thoughts of a Discouraged Author

By Andrew C McDonaldPublished 8 days ago • Updated 8 days ago • 1 min read

We’ve all heard this tale of woe

Lived it, breathed it, felt it

Still, I feel … dissed and sad

Locked out of a Forgotten Room

Where I’ll console Grampa, Tristen & Isolde

Hence, a Journal unfinished shall languish

As I move on from this latest anguish

Once again a top story

A top story that was in a contest

Not just entered, but

Entered as one of my best

While it’s my opinion

Taken for what that’s worth

I still believe it was deserving

Of at least an honorable berth

Yet once more … looked over, passed by

Not even so much as honorable mention

Yet apparently, as others have said,

It’s judges opinion, with no true dissension

So, I give up… I have other places to be

I’ll continue narrating my first audible book

If for me you seek that’s where you’ll find me
