By my name

...

By Harydo NeonPublished 2 months ago • 1 min read

I am here in the midst of the silence

Walking through life, this hot desert that's in flame

My brain is suddenly diverted whilst my lips proclaims

"He knows me by my name"

I mean He could have identified me by the things I have done

Labelled me and have me titled by all my flaws and things I did wrong

Maybe even by my skin colour or the seam of my woven culture

But He chose to know me, by my name and breath He poured

In the sight of the scorching nature of life and where I have walked

Pains I have felt and probably still have, somewhere locked

I still hear you, your calm-soothing-velvety voice

You still know my name and I am holding on to that

Come what may

Come sunshine and turbulent rain

There is a truth no one can ever take away

The fact that the Creator of the universe knows me by name
