BUTTING HEADS
My Monday Blues
Didn't hide.
At least, tried.
My value is right.
So, put up a fight.
Tried moving the needle.
They wheedle.
Numbers correct.
Their value, they protect.
Made a choice.
Yes, they heard my voice.
Didn't back down.
not a clown.
Before lunch,
gut punch.
Sick all over.
No booze hangover.
Bottom line,
It's not fine.
Mind spin.
Can't win.
No Change.
Feels strange.
All for not,
while things rot!
In the end,
an alarming trend.
Given false hope.
Not a dope.
It didn't matter.
It's their way to flatter.
Didn't change a thing.

Writer's notes: Butting Heads is my way of vocalizing the frustration that resulted from disputing a property valuation. In my opinion and the bottom line, the Appraisal Board always wins.
It's my Monday unhappy song to sing. Cooler weather is forecasted. Tomorrow will be a better day!

Mondays are not supposed to be tough in retirement! Every day is Saturday right? Thank you! My husband has been complaining a lot about the property taxes going up this year. It is all over I guess.❤️
