I wish I could tell you.
“I got out a long time ago”
Popped out made my impression on the world by now.
But I haven’t.
You see I’m the kid from school,
Who had spurts of sociably,
But it was overshadowed by the awkwardness.
When I was younger, I heard.
“You made me wanna drink”
That was a teacher so it makes you think.
So after that,
I went into my cocoon.
Sealed within the walls,
Of self-doubt, depression.
The mixture inside was a,
Messed up self-perception.
I’ve been in there this whole time.
I’m searching for a way out.
My wings of confidence still growing in.
I need to grow like a rose in a garden.
Yet my surroundings have been unhealthy.
Droughts, Heatwaves, brutal blizzards.
What emotional seasons.
So I did what I could to adapt,
because in life that's how you survive.
My cocoon molded me and shaped me in ways,
A defense mechanism.
That’s what this is,
It’s a living but…
Like I said I’m more like the butterfly,
trapped in its cocoon.
