Burning Paradise

Hopelessness is no paradise...

this is my burning paradise,

a burning scene‐

seen from what used to be, a pair of eyes

what used to be a working heart,

suffocating in the fumes i'm running on

rising from the ashes,

of a smoldering pile, of what used to be hopes and dreams‐

between life and death,

and waring assemblies

i've been losing everything,

everyday‐

there's no need for another me

i'm used to this suffering

may this fire cover me

burning down until this burning paradise is burnt out

i'm unfortunately familiar with my flash point‐

this isn't passion,

this isn't love,

not even desire,

but disappointment, regret and confusion‐

i can only reflect as i stare sick through the smoke haze

too late to evacuate, there's no life left in the air‐

seasons are set a blaze,

black clouds fill my gaze

i'm gated in by this fateful flame that's burning at my feet‐

may i burn in this paradise

burn my eyes and burn my pride

sear my scars and kill my fears

the blood i've lost has fueled this fire all these years

all the smoke is my disguise

there's no tomorrow's in my eyes

i'll just burn in this paradise

About the Creator

JM

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
