I was a church,
A temple for one and all.
That was my mistake.
For when you came,
I did not see your intentions.
On your knees you begged for acceptance,
I let you in.
You asked for salvation,
You wished for redemption.
Your sins anchored my heart,
Your lies cooed my emotions.
I forgave you.
Then you burned me to the ground.
