No plaque no cross No record no name A child was here A soldier was too They whispered to the wind The world looked away Years passed without pause Rain washed their trace What if they mattered What if they dreamed No stories left behind Only soil and regret We walk and step On silence and sorrow They wait unspoken Still hoping for tears Still buried without a sound

heartbreak
