Brown is the color of my bear suit. People know it’s a suit, that I’m not a real bear. I’m not trying to frighten anyone or pretend to be eccentric.
I’m hidden when I wear it. Without it I’m all gums. A too big smile. I am pink and exposed. The bear suit provides that protective layer everyone needs when they visit an inhospitable atmosphere.
In the black backsplash of everything named in the universe there are whitish drips of various sizes too numerous to see. In indifferent space I look uniform. Inside my warm suit I am unlike anyone else.
