Brontide

misery and mystery

it was on that night

when my eyes cried

far aside still in my sight

I trembled by the terrible brontide

A piercing roar of threat amidst my pain

my fears became tears and drizzles became rain.

silently the heights spoke, in a low murmur

was it assurance for my tragedy?

or acceptance beyond humanity?

Or is it merely insane illusionary?

The earth held its breath, and I felt it still,

a phantom hand pressed against my will.

Shadows unravelled where the thundering tread,

weaving nightmares through the words unsaid.

Each flash of lightning carved fleeting scars,

etching secrets in the canvass of stars.

Did the skies grieve too, in their mournful sway,

or did they mock the wounds of a mortal's day?

No shelter remained, no solace to find,

The brontide whispered of things long past,

as the tempest raged in my fragile mind.

of truths unspoken and shadows cast.

Was this a reckoning curse of fate,

or the universe’s cruel twist to berate?

to the endless mystery, forever unsure.

What's the way of retreat?

I'm searching for a cure,

not for my disease but for destiny.
