Broken Wings That Fly

A poem about healing from a broken heart

Wings That Fly

Fluttering wings, once strong and bold,

Shattered by a love that left me cold,

A broken heart that couldn't be healed,

Felt like a wound that constantly bleed.

But time has passed, the pain subsides,

And my wings slowly begin to rise,

I learned to love myself once more,

And the pieces of my heart I was able to restore.

I spread my wings, towards the sky,

And finally learned how to fly,

I took a chance, and found new love,

Different than before, but it fit like a glove.

It's not easy, to trust again,

But as I soar, I know that I can,

My wounds have healed, my heart has grown,

And in new love, I have found a home.

I spread my wings, and take flight,

Through the darkness, and the light,

I am no longer held down by pain,

New love has made me whole again.

So to those with broken wings like mine,

Don't give up, your heart will heal in time,

And as you recover, you'll learn to fly,

Higher than before, towards the sky.
