Broken Wings

Broken wings may keep us down,

But they can't stop us from flying,

For even in the darkest times,

We have the strength of our own trying.

Though we may falter and stumble,

And struggle to find our way,

Our resilience keeps us going,

Through the night and into day.

With every step we take,

Our wings begin to heal,

And though the road may be long,

We'll find a way to feel.

We'll spread our wings and soar,

Higher than we ever knew,

And the brokenness we once felt,

Will fade into something new.

For in the midst of struggle,

There lies a seed of hope,

A light that shines within us,

And helps us find the scope.

So don't give up on flying,

Even if your wings are broken,

For within you lies the power,

To rise up, awoken.

And when the winds of life get strong,

And threaten to knock us down,

We'll spread our wings and rise,

Stronger than before, unbound.

So let us take to the sky,

With broken wings and heart,

For in the midst of struggle,

We find the place to start.
