Broken Window

Reflecting on Love's Demise

Through the shattered glass I see,

A world that used to be,

A place where laughter filled the air,

And love was always there.

But now the window's broken,

And the pieces lie as token,

Of a life that's gone away,

And won't come back another day.

The shards reflect the pain,

Of a heart that's been slain,

And the tears that fell like rain,

When love was lost in vain.

The window's frame is black,

Like the night that won't come back,

And the silence that fills the room,

Is the sound of love's doom.

Through the broken window's pane,

I see a world that's full of pain,

And the memories that linger there,

Are the ghosts of a love affair.

The broken window tells a tale,

Of a love that's doomed to fail,

And the shattered pieces on the floor,

Are the pieces of a heart no more.
