Broken Static and Serenity

Stream of Consciousness-style, broken, introspective poem.

By Paul StewartPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Static burns through

(crematoria epidermal)

all and everything

(but)

where the war

(in the west, east)

and the peace

(... the void)

begins and ends

(cracke…)

broken s h a t t e r e d

(but)

rivers of bloodletting the side down

again-st the tidal wall of

the enemy of the state of things as they stand

up for what you think is right

the wrongs of the past

times and lives forgotten

nine eight ways to make you straight jacket

cut to fit your framework of emotions

and driving forces of nature

and natural disaster relief

from the oncoming storm

*

broken, cracke... I love when the lines don't

...

complete until they do

*

static burns through

like the sun

but all I need

desire

is the cold light

of the moon

*

Realisation

is

Salvation

from

Expectation

*

Thanks for reading!

Author's Notes: Another deep dive. I've also been listening to a lot of hardcore (variation on punk) which often has a lot of short blasts of lyrics and so brevity is key to it all.
