Broken Skies

it was the sun that fell that day

looking back

at broken skies

soft unspoken

where’s and whys

capriciously distant

abstract lies

looking again

for tomorrows sighs

looking back

at forgotten highs

this chilling hindsight

a moment wise

the mood i often

see in my eyes

but only when

i refuse my disguise

only then can

i fully realise

the here and now

i must utilise

and that it comes

as no surprise

i know the volume

but not the size

only parts of me

can sympathise

with this pain i try

to vocalise

when all i wish

is to minimise

lend not mend

or jeopardise

the thrill inevitably

outweighs the prize
