Broken Reflections
The mirror tells a story
Few would ever understand,
Of every hidden struggle
Carried by these hands.
It shows the sleepless evenings,
The doubt beneath the skin,
The countless silent wars
Fought entirely within.
People saw the surface,
A face composed and still,
Never noticing the fractures
Hidden underneath the will.
I gathered every failure,
Stored them where they could remain,
Stacking them like stones
Inside a chamber built from pain.
The reflection stared back nightly,
Questioning what I became,
Searching through the darkness
For something left unchanged.
Years have a way of carving
Their marks upon the soul,
Leaving traces of survival
Where innocence once stood whole.
Yet broken does not mean defeated,
Nor damaged beyond repair,
It means carrying the evidence
Of battles fought while there.
The mirror tells the truth now,
Not one of loss alone,
It shows a heart still standing
Despite the storms it has known.
