You reach out then pull back afraid of him
He broke your heart once tearing it to shreds
you can't help but think he'll do it again
why are you afraid you were only friends
you think back now to the time you cared
the joy that filled your heart when you'd played
happiness that spread across your face
excitement that filled your young mind
what happened to that joyest time
where life lived on and days would fly by
where your mind was calm and your heart was strong
when you cared to show the things inside
now you block them out shutting the door
protecting the world from the horrors in store
