Time feels like an hourglass cracked open

Each grain slips faster than the last

I was once young now I see the wrinkles in my face

My back starts to ache, the mirror has seen better days

Days collapse to hours

Years go by and I wonder about this life

Is it even still mine

Can you call it living

In a world where you can't be yourself?

If you changed your ways, your face for another

Changed for their comfort

What remains when that relationship breaks?

I've faced death three times before

Felt their breath that I was about to let go

But I survived back to this life.

Not the beginning but past the end

Just somewhere in between

Walking on broken glass

Walking past my time

To get back my life
