Broken Heart

The world was painted hues of gold,

Your laughter filled the air I hold.

But now the colors, dull and wan,

Reflect a love that's lost and gone.

A shattered vase upon the floor,

Our dreams lie scattered evermore.

Each shard, a memory bittersweet,

A love so fierce, a love incomplete.

My heavy heart, a hollow drum,

Beats out a rhythm, numb and numb.

The weight of absence, hard to bear,

A silent echo in the empty air.

I clutch the pieces, sharp and cold,

Aching for a story yet untold.

Can fractured love be made anew?

Or am I destined, just to lose you?

The path ahead, a blurry line,

Each step I take, a constant whine.

But through the tears, a whisper calls,

To mend the pieces, stand up tall.

For though my heart is cracked and sore,

It holds the strength to love once more.

And though the road is paved with pain,

I'll rise above, and love again.
