Broken Fee

A Poem

Laden with fears. Carrying streams of tears. Hear the salty waves crash heavily upon the floor. Rattles then engulfed the door.

“Darlin’, please let me in.” There goes the pain again. Her chest ached as her body quaked.

Her life in shambles from love. She fluttered to a corner like a broken-winged dove. Yet it wasn’t her wings that were broken. It was her heart; her lover's token.

“Go away please,” She softly cried upon her knees. He answered her calls with no care while she sat dumbly barely breathing air.

She forgot how to breathe, she forgot how to think; she forgot how to be. All she could do was cry & plea. She was missing parts of herself that she had given for free.

Because love is blind, she couldn’t see. So sometimes love costs a broken fee.
