broken bridges

running boards

broken bridges

there’s a darkness that draws me in

the wheels skid as they hit the slide

and the lights at the end of the tunnel

grow dimmer the closer they get

they’re running

and the steel hides their tracks

and you’re chasing danger into the arched eyebrow night

relentless

Can you hear the wood cracking

as they scream down the night

And the engines silence doors open and

breathe

Step out and say goodbye

dust devils twist around their feet

Slow moving, the sounds of tomorrow crack with each step

torture hangs in the air

as the windows holding the faces of children

pass by

as hands reach out of the shadows

and take their souls

Disappeared.
