Broken

(Not There Yet)

Broken chains

Broken bodies

Broken families

Soaked in blood.

Tired of toil

Tired of sweat

Blood in tears

We're not there yet.

Broken country

Broken pleas

Broken minds

Soaked in fear.

Tired of anthems

Tired of flags

Blood in freedom

Do you hear me yet?

Broken hearts

Broken homes

Broken spirits

Soaked in pain.

Tired of darkness

Tired of hate

Blood in soil

We're not there yet.

Broken churches

Broken gospel

Broken truth

Soaked in lies.

Tired of hypocrisy

Tired eyes

Blood redeems

Have we reconciled?

Broken laws

Broken dreams

Broken justice

Soaked in hate.

Tired of cages

Tired of same

Blood is life

But we don't care yet.

We're broken.
