Bridgeman Park

for Hoon

By Janet ThenyPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Bridgeman Park

I thought of you all the way along the river path

past the tangle of brambles nearly leafless

brown berries dried on the branch

and then against the gleaming rain-soaked scrub

a few bright glistening globes

white and fresh

I brought you the white winter berries

from Bridgeman Park for your grave

at Thanksgiving

at Thanksgiving for your grave
