Peaceful night, chaos in tow
Her crime was independence
His greatest foe
Fought for her freedom
The innocent she intended to shield
Innocent lost, yet she didn't yield
He offered her restoration if she returned
No deal
Battle scars she carried; odds stacked
Does she give up?
Loss to victory
He ultimately withered to nothing
Strength favors humanity
Overall
A Pyrrhic victory is defined as, "...a victory that comes at a great cost, perhaps making the ordeal to win not worth it."
Whether or not a win is worth it depends on at least two factors:
- What you fight for
- Why you fight for it
The night he went crazy was bad enough when he went after my family. It was the last straw even before he went after Ebbie. Leaving wasn't an option; it was non-negotiable. It was IMPERATIVE.
That was the winter of 2014. I had just graduated college and was ready to graduate from housewife. That was his problem right there. He apparently felt that complete and thorough destruction was his only option to maintain whatever power he thought he "earned" over the course of almost 20 years. I think my plans surprised him. Guess he didn't expect me to get stronger.
Although every moment seems like an uphill endeavour, we continue to fight the good fight. The Good must get the upper hand, and I'll do my damnedest to make sure it rises victorious
Forever.
