Brewing Love
A poem about love at first sight
Hot black coffee
Sweet light toffee
Book in my hand
All while I hear the soft band
A bell gives off a chime
I checked my watch for the time
A shadow passes by
Windows showcase the lilac sky
I take a quick sip
I burn my lip with a drip
I set my book aside
Suddenly an overwhelming feeling rises inside
My heart begins to race
For my body had no time to brace
My first look at you
Seemed to be nothing short of true
Time begin to slow
While the wind outside began to blow
Leaves danced about the air
My fingers fussing with my hair
Your brown eyes met mine
At just half passed nine
You smiled at me
I felt as if I had slammed into a tree
You sat at my side
This was all before I was about to be your bride
You told me your name
My heart became a flame
A fire was burning
Our souls finally finding what they had been yearning
