Breathing Again

The storm is clearing, and I am still here.

My soul once disappeared
Wished everything was clear
Wanted the sun as I woke up
The moon as I sleep
Wanted to be seen by others

Instead
Lightning struck my brain
Clouds blinded my eyes
Not a sun nor a moon in the sky

Monsters of gore shattered  my dreams
Awakened in the middle of the night
Laughed  at me
Pulled me into the ground
Took my breath away
The punishment from the dead

Invisibility to others
Being quiet because of judgment
Stares laughed silently

My left brain would say we can’t do this
My right brain would say
I’m tired

At one point
My brain had shattered
My body was bleeding
The fear of losing
The fear of forever pain

I was in the ground for years
Somehow
The sun started to peek out

The ground shook and opened up
I can breathe again
Everything is clear for now
The tears fall heavily
I am alive
After the pain of suffering
I am alive
