Breaking Counseling And Therapy Into A Few Simple Words In This Rhyme For Me And You

Most of us can take some advice, but are not sure about more than that! Counseling and therapy is listening and not someone telling you what to do!

Counseling

is listening

to learn

what it is to turn

this person around

love will abound

****

Listen

is my mission

for learning

what is burning

inside of this heart

love is the start

****

Love, listen, and learn

is what drops the concern

We can get through anything

Self-care is something

to do for them and for us today

setting boundaries on this day

****

Tears and laughter are important

for healing and with a bit of encouragement

it is good to do this everyday

Funny how I can turn them over on Monday

but not family and loved ones on Friday

and especially not on Saturday

****

Counseling is listening and learning to love!

Start with love, making the listening and learning fit like a glove

This is what I hoped to accomplish and more

Teaching skills, tools for the toolbox, can be a chore

and positive self-talk is important for all

when making discoveries, it can be a haul

****

Some have a set protocol

Awareness is a constant in therapy

some things take longer in psychotherapy

addiction counseling is what I did most

then I became the host

in family and couples therapy sessions

Most took about six sessions or interventions

****

I enjoyed what I did and now it is very parttime

It may be okay for me to bow out at this time

and just as important is to end this rhyme

I can go on and on and on another day

It is important for me to say, have a good Tuesday!

This is great! I have never read a poem about counseling. Very original idea. Having someone who will just listen without trying to tell you how to fix things is priceless. Giving people a chance to just talk things out seems like it would help people get to their own solutions, too. You must be a very patient and caring person to serve others in this way.
