The scariest man smiles wide,
his voice silk over cold stone.
“I love you,” he whispers,
and you lean in, unaware
that trust is a candle he’s about to snuff.
Behind your back
he spits fire into quiet corners,
builds betrayal in texts and shadows,
smiling while gutting what you thought sacred.
The knife is his grin,
curved and familiar,
hiding behind the mask
that wears your heart like a borrowed face.
About the Creator
Tina D. Lopez
Finally realizing I need to start acting like the main character in my own life. Writing helps me figure out where I keep losing the plot and giving away my spotlight. My story is a big mix of drama, comedy, tragedy, thriller, and, horror.
