A poem about delusion

Bored

Everything bores,

endless lines on highways,

the stale groups of people

waiting for coffee that's made like shit

the price hikes and fake sales that

draw in, brainless consumers.

Everything's the same.

The same conversations in

a house that's the same as

the neighbours and all the conversations

are like shit-brained pickleheads

might as well talk to a pickle.

Everything is pointless

one pointless kiss to the next

one new job to a new job

and life is spent that way

where's the energy,

where's something insane to find,

why does life feel so preordained and

the most boring thing of it all,

most will never experience

what life has to offer, and no one will

ever know they didn't enjoy.

Wow, I loved this line: "Everything's the same. The same conversations in a house that's the same as the neighbours..." I've had that feeling so many times. Good thing writing keeps it fresh, at least in our own heads :)

'I'm the chairman of the bored.' - Iggy Pop Seriously, I like this one. It has a momentum and strong imagery in it, and it makes me think about my life. Good work!
