poetry

Mist creeps from the sweetest hollow,

Dripping darkness that always follows.

Wading through mist avoiding graves,

Like quicksand for the soul to wallow.

Dew settles on the iron gates.

Slick marble tombs shelter fresh graves,

The magic of horror and silence,

The magic that lurks, watches, and waits…

Autumn air mingles with a moonless night,

Flaming pumpkin faces glowing big and bright.

Monsters vocalize their hunger,

Moaning, growling, just out of sight.

Let the darkness of this place take you,

Let the ambiance of death completely make you.

The light begins to evaporate,

And the darkness begins to break you.
