The wet seeps into your bones and does not leave

for days on end in May. The birds start to talk loudly to

each other about what they’re doing and if the hawk

is close by.

Daffodils bloom in raindrops and maple blossoms

scatter on the ground like red confetti.

A gray blanket of clouds covers the sky in darkness

all day long.

The full moon rises on the first of May, on the night

of Beltane, no less. The forest lights up with moonlight and

The rain pounds into the Earth

putting fires out.
